We started out at 4am on Friday, May 11th at home in Coquitlam. The flight to Amsterdam came in two parts - flying first from Vancouver to Chicago, then Chicago direct to Amsterdam.

In Chicago we discovered that United has a separate lounge for their customers flying first class internationally... who knew?

While the first leg (Vancouver-Chicago) was in a plain old 737, the second leg (Chicago-Amsterdam) was in a 777... and the first class seats are amazing, like little pods with every toy you can think of, including being able to lay out flat like a bed!
